Best Friends & Rainbow Bridge

In Memory of all of the pets, Loved and now Lost

whistles and purrs show them the way...

"Just this side of Heaven, is a placed called Rainbow Bridge...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.  All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor,  those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and  times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers.  Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.  YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

....Then  you cross Rainbow Bridge together."

Buddy

Buddy Love
We adopted Buddy when  he was a runaway in our old neighborhood, I always said he recognized us as a "cocker family" and chose us.
We had him about six years, and just lost him recently to tick anemia.
He was the most beautiful, sweetest dog you an imagine and fathered Buffy's litter of nine puppies-we got Elvis out of that batch.
He is greatly missed, but I think Chuck and Nugget will take good care of him for now.

Waiting...and Missing
This picture was taken just after our new house was built, it just always seemed to me that the look in Buffy's eyes was so sad, like she knew something about what was to come in the near future...things that we had no idea of.

Comforting...

Golden Nugget

Golden Nugget
Nugget was a give away because he was a 'coc-a-poo' from a full blooded cocker mom.  He had the most intelligent eyes that only gave a hint of the things he could master in his 19 years of life.
He was very protective of all of us, and didn't like any kind of hitting or kicking-even in play.
It about killed us to have to put him to sleep, but in the end,  he was just in too much pain-the spark was gone from his eyes.
He was my baby for years, and then accepted protecting Mandi when we added her to the family.  I thank God for sending us to pick him out and letting us borrow him for as long as we did.
